How to Find Out if a Dentist Takes Your Insurance in 3 Steps

When it comes to dental care, one of the most important factors to consider is whether or not a particular dentist accepts your insurance. Dental insurance can help make dental care more affordable, but it can be frustrating to find a dentist you like and then realize they don’t accept your insurance. So, how can you find out if a dentist accepts your insurance? If you don’t know how to find out if a dentist takes your insurance, you might think you need to spend your time waiting on hold with your insurance provider to find out. Or you may find yourself “Googling” something like:

  • “Dentist that accepts Delta Dental”
  • “Dentist that accepts Aetna”
  • “Dentist that accepts AHCCCS”
  • “Dentist that accepts Cigna”

However, it can actually be much simpler than that. Learn more about the process below, alongside which insurances we accept at our Tempe, Phoenix, and Avondale clinics.

Step 1: Visit the Dental Clinic Website

When you want to book an appointment with a dentist that accepts your insurance (for example: Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, ahcccs , etc), it may be as simple as visiting the clinic website.

Many of the best dental practices have pages dedicated to listing the dental insurance networks they accept so that you can have complete peace of mind when you make your appointment. Here are the insurances we accept at AZ Family & Kids Dental.

Step 2: Phone the Dentist

As you will likely already be phoning a dentist to make an appointment, you may like to call the clinic to see if they have a dentist that accepts your insurance. When they confirm they accept your insurance provider, you can make your appointment on the same call.

Step 3: Visit the Clinic

At the time of your appointment, or if you happen to be in the same area as a dental clinic, call in and ask about their insurance information. You might be looking for a dentist who accepts Aetna or curious about other leading providers like Cigna, Guardian, and Trident insurance.

You don’t have to talk to the dentist specifically, but reception staff will be able to provide you with the information you’re looking for in regard to insurance details for all their clinics.

What If a Dentist Has More Than One Clinic?

You might be curious about whether a dental clinic with more than one location accepts the same insurance providers across all of them. Each clinic can operate differently, but we’ll provide you with information about how we work here at AZ Family & Kid’s Dental.

We have three clinics in Tempe, Phoenix, and Avondale in Arizona. All of our accepted insurance can be found here. All three of our clinics work with a wide range of insurance networks, including Delta, AHCCCS, Cigna, Prudential, and Aetna, just to name a few more popular ones.

If you require further information about the insurance providers we accept or don’t see your provider on our list, you can contact any of our clinics and speak to our friendly reception staff.

My Insurance Provider Isn’t On a Dentist’s List; What Do I Do?

While many of the best dentists in Arizona and throughout the United States accept a wide range of insurance providers, there may be some exceptions. You can contact your preferred clinic and ask about an insurance network specifically.

At AZ Family & Kids Dental, we offer CareCredit, a form of dental financing for patients who may not have insurance or are unable to provide payment upfront but still require dental care in a timely fashion.

When you book an appointment with AZ Family & Kids Dental, you get to enjoy peace of mind knowing that we accept most insurance plans. Contact us today to book your appointment and to have any of your insurance-related questions answered.
